Artist's Statement
In this body of work I have strived to achieve a story within the art.
Some of the pieces are quite obvious, in their telling of the story, while others are quiet, offering viewer participation. I have always been intrigued and motivated by healing and growth. In this way, these works are a contribution to this. The materials that I use are photography assemblage, oil, acrylic and encaustic.
My sculptures are part of an on going series to bring out reflections from meditations with the crystal mineral world. They are then created with the intention of “Other Worldly Beings”. I use clay and paint to execute and discover the possibility of how this stone may express itself if living in a society based on universal acceptance.
